HYROX Plan of the Week: HYROX Doubles 8-Week
Train for doubles events with championship-proven methods. 8 weeks, 6 days/week, team-focused programming.
Master team racing in 8 weeks. World champion coaching. Partner coordination drills.
🚀 Spotlight: HYROX Doubles 8-Week
Racing doubles is different. You share workload, coordinate transitions, and pace as a unit—not as individuals glued together.
This 8-week program from the RMR Training team (five world championships between them) teaches you how to race as a team, not just two athletes on the same course.
Meg Jacoby, Rich Ryan, and Ryan Kent built this from their doubles experience: strategy, communication, and workload distribution that wins races.
Quick Stats:
⏱ 8 weeks | 🏋️ All levels | 💪 6 days/week | ⏰ 70 min/session
🔑 What You’ll Do
6 training days per week. 70 minutes per session. Mix of individual development and doubles-specific coordination work.
Focus areas:
Partner pacing—match running speed, coordinate breathing
Workload distribution—strategic sharing based on strengths
Transition efficiency—smooth handoffs under fatigue
Communication systems—clear signals during competition
You can train solo or with your partner. The programming prepares you for team racing either way.
💡 Coach Tip
“Practice your station handoffs at 80% effort first. Rushing transitions at race pace creates mistakes. Master the timing, then add speed.”
Why it works:
• Reduces wasted seconds during partner switches
• Builds coordination patterns that hold under fatigue
• Creates consistent pacing through clear communication
🚀 After 8 Weeks You’ll:
• Coordinate seamlessly with your partner during transitions
• Distribute workload strategically based on strengths
• Maintain pace through clear communication systems
• Execute doubles strategy with confidence on race day
